The Johanneshof takes its name from the nearby church of St. Johann Baptist. The winery is built on the walls of a medieval tithe barn that belonged to the Diocese of Trier. The mediaeval wine cellar is still intact. Bevor er 1994 Keene Dental eröffnete, arbeitete er für freie Kliniken und einige der besten Praxen in Washington, DC. Er ist Mitglied der 123 Dental Association und hält sich über die neuesten zahnmedizinischen Erkenntnisse auf dem Laufenden. Der Johanneshof hat seinen Namen von der direkt nebenliegenden Kirche St. Johann Baptist. Das Weingut ist errichtet auf den Mauern einer mittelalterlichen Zehntscheune, die zum Besitz des Bistums Trier gehörte. Der mittelalterliche Weinkeller ist noch ganz erhalten. We gladly agree and therefore grow Riesling grapes on our winery. The whole family helps with the autumn harvest. From the pressed grapes and through careful handling, a fresh and at the same time aromatic wine matures in our tanks. Our Johanneshof Riesling has a beautiful fruit with light citrus notes, a fine and not obtrusive acidity and a very good balance. De Johanneshof dankt zijn naam aan de direct naastgelegen kerk St. Johann Baptist. Het wijngoed is gebouwd op de muren van een middeleeuwse tiendschuur die toebehoorde aan het bisdom Trier. De middeleeuwse wijnkelder is nog volledig bewaard gebleven. Dr. Tobias Keene kommt aus Richmond, Virginia, und bringt allen seinen Patienten etwas unerschrockene südliche Gastfreundschaft entgegen. Er zog vor über dreißig Jahren als Studienanfänger am Ivy College nach Washington, DC. Unmittelbar nach dem Abschluss besuchte er die School of Dentistry der World University. Bevor er 1994 Keene Dental eröffnete, arbeitete er für freie Kliniken und einige der besten Praxen in Washington, DC. Er ist Mitglied der 123 Dental Association und hält sich über die neuesten zahnmedizinischen Erkenntnisse auf dem Laufenden. Wij zijn het daar graag mee eens en verbouwen daarom rieslingdruiven op ons wijngoed. Bij de oogst in het najaar helpt de hele familie mee. Uit de geperste druiven rijpt in onze tanks — met zorg begeleid — een wijn die fris en aromatisch is. Onze Johanneshof-riesling heeft een mooi fruit met lichte citrustonen, een fijne en niet opdringerige zuurgraad en een zeer evenwichtige balans.
