About us

We, the Müller family, are looking forward to welcome you to our Johanneshof winery.

The Johanneshof takes its name from the nearby church of St. Johann Baptist. The winery is built on the walls of a medieval tithe barn that belonged to the Diocese of Trier. The mediaeval wine cellar is still intact. Many finds of Roman bricks on the property suggest that a Roman wine press once stood here.

Wine meets art

What do viticulture and fine arts have in common? At the beginning there is the idea of a beautiful picture or a good wine. The idea has to grow. It needs leisure, perseverance, diligence. It comes to bloom and maturity. Then it is harvested. The picture emerges, the wine unfolds. Finally, the subtleties. The last brushstrokes, the finishing touches in the basement. Both are unique, the picture like the wine. Both are important to us: good art and good wine. - Come and see for yourself.
